An investigation into reports of a possible shooting that caused a lockdown on Fort Riley Thursday turned up no evidence of shots fired or any threat to the community, officials said.
Emergency services personnel implemented lockdown procedures on the post shortly before noon Thursday in response to the report of gunshots in the area near Custer Hill, causing entrances to Fort Riley to shut down for more than 30 minutes.
Officials said law enforcement performed a 69传媒渢horough search of the area69传媒 and found there wasn69传媒檛 evidence of a shooting. Additionally, there were no injuries and no threats to the installation. Officials didn69传媒檛 indicate what led to the report of gunshots.
The lockdown order came in at 11:42 a.m. and was lifted at 1:04 p.m. Fort Riley and all access control points have since returned to normal operations.
