Commissioners in October expressed interest in funding a housing rehabilitation program with the workforce housing sales tax, according to city government documents.聽
Stephanie Peterson, director of community development, on Tuesday will give information on a possible framework for such a program and seek feedback from commissioners and the public.聽
The proposal calls for $100,000 a year of the sales tax money to go toward the program. Eligible units would be owner occupied and within city limits. There also would be an income limit for eligibility.聽
The goal of the program, according to the presentation, is to maintain a safe housing stock.聽
Commissioners will not vote at the meeting because it is a work session. They also will hear a city manager briefing.聽
