For the second straight season, Kansas State's offensive coordinator is getting stolen away by the Lone Star State.聽
Multiple reports surfaced Friday morning that Conor Riley, the Wildcats' longtime offensive line coach and first-year offensive coordinator, is headed to the National Football League to coach the offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys, the team confirmed Friday afternoon.聽
His exit comes a little more than a year after former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Collin Klein left 69传媒 to coach at Texas A&M.聽
Riley joins former Wildcats Cooper Beebe, the former two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year, and consensus all-American Deuce Vaughn in Dallas.聽
He arrived in 69传媒 with head coach Chris Klieman in 2019 after spending six seasons at North Dakota State.聽
Under Riley, K-State ranked second in rushing in the Big 12 and 11th overall, and averaged more than 31 points per game last season.聽
Riley was 2-0 as a playcaller in bowl games, helping lead K-State to wins in the Pop-Tarts Bowl after the 2023 season and the Rate Bowl back in December.
K-State has not yet announced a successor, but former Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells joined Klieman's staff before last season would be the easy choice to keep some continuity in the offense for star quarterback Avery Johnson.聽
The Wildcats will open the season in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 23, versus Iowa State.聽
